Etymology & Origin of gacha
Gacha comes from the Japanese capsule-toy vending machines called gachapon or gashapon. The name imitates the sounds the machine makes: gacha (turning the crank) and pon (the capsule dropping). The capsule-toy vending machine appeared in 1965, when the first such machine was installed in Tokyo.
