Yanbaru Kuina is Japanese. It stands for ‘bird from Yanbaru’, which is exactly what it is. The Yanbaru Kuina is better known as the Okinawa Rail and is a bird from the Japanese island Okinawa.

This threatened species is being protected by the Japanese government, but despite that fact, still threatened by habitat loss and introduced predators like wild cats.

The Okinawa Rail is a threatened bird species from Okinawa, an island in Japan. Okinawa Rail is also known as Yanbaru Kuina.
