Scrum is an Agile way of working. You can see Scrum as a framework for managing software development. I am working like this for more than 4 years now and I have to say I really like it. I have become a master in it and I coach people regarding Scrum. That’s cool, of course, but there are some companies and people who don’t see the benefit of Scrum. No problem, because that’s what we are hired for: to make sure they understand why it works so well.
I have to admit, though: not every company or project should use Scrum. Scrum only works when the company is transparent and is willing to fully adapt the culture of the company to this agile way of working, as it otherwise takes too much effort to work and to be truly successful. When a company isn’t willing to change and / or isn’t open for Scrum, you shouldn’t even bother. These companies prefer Waterfall and are doomed to fail, because they refuse to see how important the feedback loop is.
